This document is a template and will be replaced with reviewed legal documents before public launch. It describes how Opentospeak is actually built and operated, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not a substitute for one.
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. This page lists the ones we use. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share cookie data with advertisers.
1. Essential cookies
These make the site work. They cannot be turned off, and we do not ask consent for them, because without them you could not sign in or submit a form safely.

2. Analytics cookies
These help us understand how the product is used, and how people find it, so we can improve both. They are only set if you choose "Accept all" on the banner — until then neither script is loaded at all, and neither sets a cookie or contacts its provider.

3. Advertising cookies
None. We do not run them, and we have no plans to.
4. Changing your mind
Clear the cookies for this site in your browser and the banner will ask again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings — but essential cookies are needed to sign in, so blocking them will stop the account working.
Rejecting analytics costs you nothing: every feature works either way.
5. Not cookies, but worth saying
We look your city up from your IP address to show local events on the homepage. That lookup runs against a database on our own servers — nothing is sent to a third party — and the result is kept for your session only, never stored on your account. You can override it with the city switcher.
